Sumo Power Thread 50 DEN is one of the strongest tying threads in the world — up to 15 times stronger than steel of the same diameter. Perfect for flies in sizes #8–22, where both thinness and strength are critical.
The lightly twisted multifilament polyethylene construction creates a flat, even body and makes the thread easy to split for split-thread techniques. Its silky-smooth surface can easily be waxed or colored with a marker, giving you full control over color and finish.
Sumo thread builds minimal bulk and is ideally suited for dry flies, nymphs, wet flies, and streamers.
For dubbed bodies, we recommend using tying wax or the split-thread method for best results.
