Here’s a fly that’s simple to tie with no fuss: the Micro Caddis Pupa tied with Mojo Yarn. Any beginner can tie this pattern. Of course, the fly can be tied using many different materials, but Mojo Yarn works especially well for small patterns.
Tying tip:
Accentuate the body segmentation by using nylon ribbing and twisting the yarn a bit tighter to create a rounder profile. This is completely optional — everyone can adapt the fly to their own style.
Finally, lightly brush the body to pull out a few fibers from the material. These fibers imitate the tiny abdominal hairs of real insects and add extra realism.
Don’t hesitate to experiment with Mojo Yarn in different colors to match the insects in your local waters!
