Just got back from a week in the mountains – feeling pleasantly worn out, but already looking forward to the next trip!
While I wait for the next adventure, I thought I'd share one of my absolute favourite emerger patterns. It's a fly that works throughout most of the season and one that both trout and grayling often find very hard to resist – Deer Hair Emerger.
I like to use Peacock Tinsel as ribbing to give the fly a subtle shimmer, while Hybrid Squirrel Dubbing creates that wonderfully buggy body that gives the fly a natural, lifelike appearance on the water.
