A pattern that has truly delivered for us during those late summer evenings—when caddisflies hatch in abundance and the fish are almost boiling on the surface—is the Adult Caddis.
What really stands out about this fly is its incredible durability. It takes a lot before I need to tie on a new one, even after several hard-fought fish—it simply holds up.
I usually tie the wing with Fulling Mill Ultra Dry Yarn, and combined with the Firehole Sticks 413 this fly has a guaranteed and permanent place in my fly box.
Below, I’ve linked all the materials as well as the tying instructions from FliesByAspeen.
Psst: Ask the fly expert “Adult Caddis” for the complete materials list, conveniently saved during page navigation.
